Dr. Porter has been invited by PACE to speak to families about how to best communicate with administration and teachers in the education system to achieve the best possible learning environment for our children. Take hold of his inspirational message of why Education needs our children to be a fully inclusive environment for all students and teachers. Hear his research-based findings and you are sure to feel ready to take on a new school year with optimism and confidence! Plus, it’s a free supper!

Darci Lang – Community Motivational Speaker
Darci Lang enlightens us by showing how to focus on the 90%. PACE is sponsoring her to first speak to families over a potluck supper and give us the encouragement we need to keep doing a good job with our children, through thick and thin. We will then open up the CHS theatre for a larger community event to spread the word that community needs our children to be complete. How can we fire up Meadow Lake to be enthused to have community members of all shapes, sizes and abilities to participate in making it a great place to live and raise a family? We will begin the conversation with Darci, so come join us!
Monthly Meeting
Join us for our regular monthly meeting. We always meet on the second Monday of every month, unless it is a stat holiday, then it is the third Monday. These are the backbone of our support to families. This is where you find out what events are coming up and also have a say in what future events we will be creating. Start time is at 7:00 PM and begin with some networking with other families. They are held upstairs in the Meadow Lake Hospital across from Public Health. Childcare is often provided and the coffee is sure to be strong. See you there.
I CAN Games
If your ordinary track meet events don’t leave you feeling pumped up and ready to take on the world, then perhaps the I CAN games are for you! Dorintosh Central School has been hosting an amazing track and field event for students who may need extra supports to get the same kind of enjoyment out of this tradition. Contact your child’s teacher or SSST and inquire how to get them registered. Registrations are typically due one week prior to the event. If you’d like to speak with a family that has experience with the games or have more questions, contact Bluesette Campbell at (306) 236-6105 or Dorintosh Central School at (306)236-3313.
Silver Birch Family Retreat
Our annual retreat gives families the opportunity to carve out time in their busy lives to spend quality time with one another and network with other families. We host a speaker every year that has traveled a similar journey and can shed some light and inspiration. This year’s speaker are authors Arthur Slade and Brenda Baker. Please contact Alicia at Positively Parenting (306-236-4804) to reserve a cabin. Reservations are on a first come-first serve basis so don’t miss out and call right away. There are 8 cabins but camper’s are welcome.
Education Committee Meeting
PACE has been partners with Northwest School Division since 2014. Our purpose: To keep the lines of communication open between families and the school division regarding the education of their children, recognizing that the definition of inclusive education varies for each family. It also promotes a safe learning environment for all children while increasing the awareness around the issue of disability.

Friend Blend Meets Fusion Inclusion
Fusion Inclusion is a peer mentor group supported by SACL in Saskatoon. They are traveling up to Meadow Lake to see what we are doing with Friend Blend. It should be a great event with lots of fun and games, not to mention refreshments!!
