Setting The PACE Race

Come to the 11th Annual Setting the PACE Race!!  What better way to celebrate abilities and support PACE than to participate in our annual Fun Run/Bike/Walk fundraiser.  Choose the distance that is best suited to you from 3 km-100 km!   We typically have over 100 participants cross the finish line where there is nourishment, music and fun for the whole family.  The competitive water stations add great flare and motivation to your race.  For more info or to register, call Bluesette Campbell at 306-236-6105 or email to bluesettecampbell@paceinc.ca to receive your package.

Kid’s Carnival

Welcome to our annual event at Jonas Samson.  Every year the Jonas SCC very graciously keeps their Carnival up from the Friday and offers it to PACE so that our kids can experience the same environment, slightly modified…no crowds.  This provides a much more inviting environment for kids that find the regular event too overwhelming too enjoy.  This is an inclusive event so make sure to support your child in inviting a friend and they can bring their whole family!  This has been such a successful event for us.

Self Care Yoga for Parents

As part of our theme for 2017-18, Self Care Yoga with Erin Martin is a great way to slow down your everyday life and breathe.  Whether you are a yoga guru or a newbie, you are welcome. PACE will be sponsoring one session a month for at least 6 months.  These sessions are held at CrossFit Meadow Lake gym right next to the movie theatre.  You can bring your own mat or one will provided for you.  Don’t for get your water bottle and flexible clothing!

Family Skate

This is new!!  Thanks to Greg Stang, we have the arena and Flying Dust booked for a family skate.  This means bring everyone, your whole family and invite an entire family of your child’s friends to come join us.  This is meant to be a recreational event that is fully inclusive so everyone is welcome.  Skates and helmets are required to be on the ice.  We will have snacks and hot cocoa when you need to take a break. If you require any assistance or need special accommodation, contact Bluesette at 306-236-6105.

Family Matinee

Come celebrate inclusion with this fun event!  Bring your whole family and your friends too.  We book the theatre at Jonas Samson and show a family friendly film. We  have the liberty to adjust lights and volume for our sensitivities.  No admission fees and popcorn is on the house!  Contact Bluesette at 306-236-6105 for movie details.

Education Committee Meeting

PACE has been partners with Northwest School Division since 2014.  Our purpose:  To keep the lines of communication open between families and the school division regarding the education of their children, recognizing that the definition of inclusive education varies for each family.  It also promotes a safe learning environment for all children while increasing the awareness around the issue of disability.

In February, we will be meeting with representatives from SACL including their Education, Employment and Transition worker and the Community Inclusion Consultant.  Our hope is to create a relationship between the division and SACL exploring the idea of having a Communication Support Associate for PACE families and the division.

Sports N Rec Night

Let’s get active!  Sports N Rec is an all inclusive event.  That means that every PACE family gets to invite a friend or a whole family!!!  We usually meet up and recreate in a gym, outside or even at the pool.  After breaking a sweat, we always have some  snacks and drinks to revitalize.  This is a family event (not a drop off) and a really great place to network with other parents.  Usually we have a handful of volunteers from the junior high and high school to teach and interact with the kids.  Always sure to be a good time!

February’s is at the Bowling Alley and Bear’s Den!
