Sports N Rec Night

Let’s get active!  Sports N Rec is an all inclusive event.  That means that every PACE family gets to invite a friend or a whole family!!!  We usually meet up and recreate in a gym, outside or even at the pool.  After breaking a sweat, we always have some  snacks and drinks to revitalize.  This is a family event (not a drop off) and a really great place to network with other parents.  Usually we have a handful of volunteers from the junior high and high school to teach and interact with the kids.  Always sure to be a good time!

January’s is at Meadow Lake Aquatic Centre!

Self Care Yoga for Parents

As part of our theme for 2017-18, Self Care Yoga with Erin Martin is a great way to slow down your everyday life and breathe.  Whether you are a yoga guru or a newbie, you are welcome. PACE will be sponsoring one session a month for at least 6 months.  These sessions are held at CrossFit Meadow Lake gym right next to the movie theatre.  You can bring your own mat or one will provided for you.  Don’t for get your water bottle and flexible clothing!

Family Gym Time

Erin and Jay Martin have graciously opened up their new gym across from the movie theatre for families to come and get a good work out together.  Check out their new business and do something great for your body.  It is from 1-2:30 pm and sure to be exhilarating.

I CAN Games

If your ordinary track meet events don’t leave you feeling pumped up and ready to take on the world, then perhaps the I CAN games are for you!  Dorintosh Central School has been hosting an amazing track and field event for students who may need extra supports to get the same kind of enjoyment out of this tradition.  Contact your child’s teacher or SSST and inquire how to get them registered.   Registrations are typically due one week prior to the event.  If you’d like to speak with a family that has experience with the games or have more questions, contact Bluesette Campbell at (306) 236-6105 or Dorintosh Central School at (306)236-3313.

Stampede Rodeo Security

Here is a great way to help PACE out by volunteering for the Stampede Association Bullorama and Rodeo.  Every year PACE pools together 6-7 individuals for the Thursday-Saturday shows.  We run the doors to make sure everyone has admission stamps.  The Stampede Association pays PACE an honorarium for our services.  Sign up and get a taste of cowboy culture.  Contact Bluesette Campbell at 306-236-6105 to put your name down (and maybe a friend’s?).

Setting The PACE Race

What better way to celebrate abilities and support PACE than to participate in our annual Fun Run/Bike/Walk fundraiser.  Choose the distance that is best suited to you from 3 km-42 km!  Last year we had 180 participants cross the finish line where there was nourishment, music and fun for the whole family. Possibly new to the line up is the century biking event (100km).  Registration opens June 1st, 2016.  To register call Bluesette Campbell at 306-236-6105 or email to bluesettecampbell@paceinc.ca and receive your package.

Silver Birch Family Retreat

Our annual retreat gives families the opportunity to carve out time in their busy lives to spend quality time with one another and network with other families.  We host a speaker every year that has traveled a similar journey and can shed some light and inspiration.  This year’s speaker are authors Arthur Slade and Brenda Baker.  Please contact Alicia at Positively Parenting (306-236-4804) to reserve a cabin.  Reservations are on a first come-first serve basis so don’t miss out and call right away.  There are 8 cabins but camper’s are welcome.

Friend Blend Meets Fusion Inclusion

Fusion Inclusion is a peer mentor group supported by SACL in Saskatoon.  They are traveling up to Meadow Lake to see what we are doing with Friend Blend.  It should be a great event with lots of fun and games, not to mention refreshments!!
